Kaedyn turns 6 Months

On July 25th, it was Happy 6 Month Birthday for Kaedyn.
(Yes we have a party every month for her..)
Below is a fun update about our sweet little Kaedyn
Weight : 13lbs 7oz. (5th percentile)..(She only gained 3oz over the past 2 months) She is still having major GI issues, which I will explain another day.
Length: 24 1/2 inches (5th percentile)
Nicknames : Bebe hipo (spanish for hiccup) she gets them several times a day.
Also Baby Girl, and Luv Bug.
Hair: Blond, Brown, pretty bald.
New Milestone: Says Mama, Sits Up really well, Scoots Backward
Foods: Rice cereal, Fruits, Veggies, Everything, especially Green Beans & Peas
Sleeps: Back, Tummy, side, various for at least 12 hours every night. We are very lucky she has been sleeping thru the night since 6 weeks.
Kaedyn Loves: Bathtime, Outdoors and Floor time (But not on her tummy, poor girl hasn't been able to practice crawling or play on her bellyfor 2 months because she brings back up everything she eats. And I mean everything.... Hopefully we will get her GI problem solved.
She laughs a lot, giggles when tickled and sometimes does a really cute fake laugh when we do something silly (more like a sympathy laugh)
Reaches for: "Everthing" Toys and especially Mom & Dad's Hair
Makes a funny face: when she discovers something new
Favorite Toy: Chicken dance chicken
Kaedyn doesn't like: shirts pulled over her head, and her mouth wiped.
Smiles when: you Talk, Play, Tickle and sing to her
Recognizes Mom & Dad, Toys & Bedroom
Bringing along: "Lullaby Gloworm" provides happiness
Favorite play mate: Mom & Dad
Things about Kaedyn when find most enduring: Kaedyn's hugs and kisses. The way she giggles & bounces when she is excited. She is full of smiles & loves to snuggle too. WE love her calm yet very curious personality.

She's loved this crazy singing chicken dance chicken since she was a month old.
Growing with Brown Bear.
It is so adorable how attached she has become to so many of her toys.

Loving our new chair.
More Brown Bear pictures
Sometimes I think they look alike, especially when they pose the same way.

Cutie in her Carseat

A little out of it after a long day of shots
Kaedyn is a "Bleeder" & a "Bruiser"
Happy 6 Month Birthday Kaedyn
Yeah! A new Toy!!!
We had to get her something entertaining and upright since we are not really able to let her roll around with her ouchy tummy

What's a girl suppossed to do?
Bumper or no bumper?
I keep reading all these stories saying no Bumpers in the crib (due to SIDS).
Look at what this silly girl keeps doing. Somedays it's no big deal, when she gets stuck, but other days it is totally tramatizing in the middle of the night when she wakes up screaming, because her little leg or arm is totally stuck and twisted in the crib. Especially when she has a huge mark left from being squished...
I know I would rather have her break a bone than risk losing Kaedyn if Bumpers really are a bad idea. Any input??? Or solutions??

May I just start by saying I am extra jealous that she sleeps thru the night and has since 6 weeks. I still get up once a night. You are a lucky mom.
And secondly, I haven't had a single problem with the bumper on the crib. I think it really depends on the way the baby sleeps. Does she scoot up near the corners or sides and sleep there? If so, I'd worry, but otherwise, I love having the bumper. I never worry about a leg or arm.

She is soooo cute! I love how she sucks her thumb! Keep us updated on how all the GI stuff goes. We hope it all gets solved soon!

Get a bumper, just don't have it be really fluffy. That is when they become a problem.

Oh, sweet Kaedyn. I'm so glad I finally got to meet that little cutie! I am curious on what you found out about her tummy troubles. Drop me an email if you get a minute! I love that you really go for the pink when you buy her toys (like the exersaucer). We do that too! Who wants neutral when you have a little girl?

I've used a bumper since day one and never had a problem. I'd say put one up so you don't have to worry about her arms and legs but the pictures are great. Kaedyn is so cute!

Hey, I know I just talked to you but you asked my advice right? I used a bumper with both of my kids and they survived! It never even crossed my mind with Bailey that it could be a danger, but both of my kids liked to stick their legs through the crib just like Kaedyn, so the bumper was good for them. Good luck deciding! Call me when you guys get back! I'm thinking Tuesday would be best so you guys can have a day of rest after traveling.

Kiley, I am so sad that I didn't see the post earlier than today. I guess because you dated it in August, your blog is still toward the bottom of my list, so I hadn't checked it yet. Wah!!! Kaedyn looks so cute sucking on her thumb. With crazy girl I would definitely put the bumper back on, though my advice is probably a little late. We love ya, and talking to you on the phone is much better than leaving comments!

She's adorable! Those big Powell eyes, my kids all lucked out with them too. And don't worry about the tiny baby thing: my kids don't have reflux or GERD, and they were all tiny, 3%, 5%. Julia is a "bruiser" size for us at 25%. Pediatrician's flip out every time, but they are all happy and developing well ahead of normal, so we just make 'em small. And the pedi's realize that's the way we make 'em now and don't flip out (so much) anymore. That's a Powell thing too, tiny babies, and they get it from my side also. It's like a mini-me convention every time cousins get together on both sides of our families.
For the crib thing, they make mesh crib liners that are really cool. They zip on for safety, and they keep legs from getting stuck. Someday they'll make rails that keep that from happening, but for now at least their heads don't get stuck in them!
