Kaedyn Brook Powell

Our Precious Miracle has finally arrived. We have waited so long for her. My due date was January 20th. She actually arrived almost a week late.
Kaedyn Brook Powell
Arrived January 25th
9:15 am
6lbs 14 oz
19 1/2 inches

Here is a quick summary of the whole experience. I had been in early labor for about 2 days before she actually arrived. We went to the hospital Thursday night at about 9:00 pm and my contractions were strong and about 2 minutes apart. I was trying to go all natural which was working out great until about 4:00 am when my water broke. So I went ahead and got the epidural which didn't work out too well since only half of my body took. So I basically felt most of the delivery. By about 5:30 am I was ready to go. In the beginning it was fun and exciting to push until the count of 10 and do my breathing. By about 6:30 I thought wow this is taking a lot longer than I thought. Then came 7:30, still pushing.. Then 8:30 came and went. By this time I was crying a bit and a little frustrated, I just wanted to meet our precious little girl. Finally 9:15 arrived and so did she. Wow that was a hard labor, totally not what I expected. If she didn't come when she did I would have been on my way for a C-section, and there is no way that I was going to allow that after all my hard work. Besides having to work so hard, we loved the entire experience. The hospital staff was wonderful, all of the nurses, and especially our Doc. Doctor Reider was a huge support through our entire pregnancy and through the delivery, he never left our side from 2:00 am until she was delivered. We love our little "Wild Woman" so much and wouldn't change the experience for anything. She was definitley "Worth the Wait"

As a guy, I must say that the girls get way too much credit for this whole birthing process. Brent, you look fabulous after a long night of support and empathy. I guess I should say SOMETHING about the others...Kaedyn and Kiley look amazing, congrats from the Carrs!

Wow, this sounds so much like my first labor! Days of labor, hours and hours of pushing, an epidural on only one side; hopefully you didn't have the 3rd degree episiotomy like I did, though. Congrats on a good outcome, she's so tiny and beautiful!

Glad to finally be able to see pictures of the sweet little girl, great job on the name, I love it! I was secretly pulling for Brooke for the middle, way to go. We'll join you soon in the girl world and we are so excited. I need you to take pics of the nursery and put them up too so I can get some inspiration for my girl's room. I wish I could hold her...
